2024 ,Roy is scheduled to play piano on all tracks on a forthcoming album by the Larry Douglas/Jorge Pineda Alltet.
October ,2022. Roy has begun a weekly solo piano residency at Hotel Adagio playing every Friday from 7-9:30pm. Hotel Adagio is located at 550 Geary Street. San Francisco, Calif.
August, 2018. Roy has accepted a Part- time teaching position at Berkeley City College
Sept – December 2017 Roy was a regular performer on Hammond Organ with renowned Bay Area saxophonist Jules Broussard and Guitarist Ned Boynton at “Jacks ” Restaurant and Bar San Francisco, Calif .
May ,2017. Roy has graduated from SFSU with a Master of Arts Degree: Music Education

- April 2015 Roy is completing his studies at San Francisco State University for his Master’s Degree in Music Education
- April 2015. Roy performed on the CD “Dedicatorias Dos” with the Afro- Cuban ensemble, The Larry Douglas/ Jorge Pineda group. Available for purchase on Amazon and CD baby. This CD is currently in the nomination process for a Grammy award in the Latin Jazz category and was one of the top 100 Latin Jazz CD’s of 2015.
- April 2015 Roy has been performing semi- regularly with guitarist Patrick Green in a Hammond Organ trio at Oakland restaurant Lungomare. Jack London Square.
- April 2014 Roy has been a teaching assistant with Dr. Dee Spencer at SFSU for the Beginning Jazz Piano Class. For the last year (2014-2015) at San Francisco State University he has also been teaching assistant with Bay Area Jazz Announcer Clifford Brown Jr of radio station KCSM in a class entitled “Survey Of Jazz. His group has also performed twice for in- class concert performances. He is also teaching assistant with renowned bay area drummer Deszon Claiborne over the “Instrumental Jazz Combos” and was the Master of Ceremonies 3 times for their annual concerts. Roy has also recorded 5 short videos for the San Francisco State Music program on Beginning Jazz Piano.
Prior to this ,Roy was the accompanist for 3 semesters for the San Francisco State Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of renowned bay area vocalist and performer with Beach Blanket Babylon Mrs. Renee-Lubin . Roy was also accompanist with Mrs Holmes on 3 of her instructional videos for vocal jazz technique - March 2014 – Roy is continuing work with the Larry Douglas/Jorge Pineda Latin Jazz Group, and developing his Hammond organ repertoire.
- June 2013 – Roy graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and is now persuing his Masters Degree. He is working Saturdays with saxophonist Stephen Norfleet’s organ trio Stephen’s Bakery at Club Deluxe in San Francisco.
- May 2012 – Roy is working regularly with the Larry Douglas/Jorge Pineda Latin Jazz Group
- December 2011 – Roy is completing studies at San Francisco State University and is preparing for his next CD project, a unique Hammond organ trio with trumpet and drums. Demo tracks can be heard on the Music page.
- Roy’s new CD, Continuation, was released on March 22nd, 2009 with a performance at Anna’s Jazz Island, Berkeley.
- November 2007 – The Roy Brown Quartet played Mondays at Les Joulins Jazz Bistro for 2 years. Prior to Leading his own group at Les Joulins, Roy was Pianist for 5 years with Bay Area saxophonist Charles Unger and his group the Charles Unger Experience who were mainstays at the club for nearly 20 years.
- February 2006 – Roy traveled to Shanghai China to perform with Frankye Kelly for a three month engagement. Details on the Schedule page.
- November 2005 – Roy has recently returned from a headlining engagement at the Villahermosa Jazz Festival in Tabasco, Mexico with renowned vocalist Frankye Kelly.
- July 2005 – Roy performed with San Francisco vocalist Frankye Kelly at the San Cristobal De Las Casas Jazz Festival in Chiapas, Mexico.
